In 1997 just west of Toronto, Canada – Counteract was founded to address the need of an easier, more efficient, and environmentally friendly solution for balancing wheel and tire assemblies. This solution came in the form of Counteract Balancing Beads – small, coated glass beads that were designed to sit inside the tire as opposed to the outside like traditional wheel weights. As the tire begins to roll, the beads are distributed around the inside through centrifugal force. These beads naturally act as a movable counterweight, naturally “filling in” the heavy and light spots in the tire, which in turn creates a fully balanced wheel assembly. The Counteract Balancing Beads last the lifetime of the tire, and have a moisture repellent coating to prevent the beads from gathering moisture and clumping together. Counteract Balancing Beads are also the ONLY dynamic wheel balancing solution on the market that is proven to increase vehicle efficiency. The glass beads also absorb the heat from the tires, leading to less wear over time.

Counteract also manufactures ‘Eco’ Balance Beads, which are a more budget friendly alternative to the flagship Balancing Beads product. The ‘Eco’ Balance Beads are produced without the outer coating found on the traditional style, but still perform just as well. There is also ‘Eco XL’ Balance Beads, which uses 2.5-3mm diameter beads, which are 2-3x larger than the ‘Eco’ and traditional version. ‘Eco XL’ Balancing Beads are designed for extreme balancing conditions that may require a larger size, but are compatible with all applications.

Unlike other hub cleaning products, the cleaning pad refills for the Counteract ‘Hub Pro’ and ‘Hub Pro XL’ are very economically priced, and last for a rather long time. For commercial and fleet use, Counteract also produces Centering Sleeves. These small plastic sleeves are installed onto the tire/wheel assembly, in the bores that the lug studs fit through. This ensures that the wheel is centered and mounted on the hub with no axial misalignment, preventing call-backs, and wheels that just never feel right on the vehicle.
